Training

Outdoor training begins this Tuesday, 5:30 to 7:00pm, in the Brookdale Stadium. Thursday is 4:00 to 5:30pm in the Brookdale Meadow.

Small sided games will be Saturdays 10:30 to noon in the Brookdale Meadow. This is free.

Advanced player development training will be Fridays 4:30 to 5:30 in the Brookdale stadium for 10 weeks. This will have small player to trainer ratios and offer extra development (e.g., focus on non-dominant foot skills). Cost will depend on number of players: about $125 for 6 players to $70 for 12 players. We have 3 players committed. We prefer to fill the training with kids from our group but will soon open it up to other towns and age groups within Montclair. Let us know if you are interested.

Goalie training is being offered by the club, see below. This free. Let us know if you are interested and for which session.

Introduction to Goal Keeping

Summary:  This course is designed to give our younger players the basics of goal keeping.  This is a survey course, designed so that 12 different players attend each three week section (i.e., an individual player should only attend one three week section).

Eligibility:  U9 & U10

Players per Section:  12

Three Week Sessions

Section 1:  March 23, March 30 and April 13

Section 2:  April 27, May 4 and May 11

Section 3:  May 18, June 1 and June 8 

Time:  4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Location:  Brookdale Stadium

Welcome Back Blue Team Players and Families!

We are excited in the anticipation of a great spring season.  As some of you may be aware, the Blue Team will be playing in the competitive B Division this season and we believe that the boys will continue to thrive individually and as a team. 

Welcome Coach Mike!

We would like to confirm that the Blue and White teams will continue to train together and to announce that Red Bull’s trainer, Michael O’Hara is our assigned coach for game days.  We would like to extend a warm welcome to Coach Mike and look forward to a rewarding and competitive season for the boys!

Gearing up for our First Game of the Spring Season:

ü For our first game of the season, we will be competing against the Belleville U-10 Boys next Sunday, 3/25.

ü The boys are expected to be on the field by 10:00AM and kickoff will take place at 10:30AM at the Northeast School here in Montclair.

ü Please confirm your son’s attendance for our upcoming 3/25 game.  If you know that your son will not be able to make next week’s scheduled game please contact us ASAP so that we have time to coordinate substitutes as needed.

ü We would like to confirm that the boys should wear their blue jerseys and shorts, blue socks and cleats.

ü You will receive additional communication later in the week regarding next Sunday’s game including our confirmed roster.

extra training opportunity

We are considering an optional training opportunity for those who wish to have more professionally guided development. This would be cheaper than going to an outside training organization for one of their 'elite' programs. Players will get more focused instruction on technique. For example, a session focusing on non-dominant foot skills.

Day/Time/Place: Fridays, 4:30 to 5:30, Brookdale Stadium

Duration 10 weeks

Estimated costs will depend on the number of players and will range between $125 for 6 players to $70 for 12 players.

In addition to this, we will have Saturday morning small sided games 10:30 to 12 as another opportunity to play. The Saturday small sided games are already part of the training program and do not have additional costs.
